OMG why didn’t I do this sooner?!? If you are frustrated by your RV cabinet doors not staying open, this video is for you. An easy 10 min install has eliminated my biggest frustration with my Scamp kitchen cabinets. Every thing I used for this modification is listed below.

Project Supplies:

• Struts
• Gorilla Glue
• Duct Tape
• Large Clamps
• Small Clamps
• Power Drill
• Hand Screw Driver
• Hammer
• Fine Point Sharpie
• Shims

Important Correction –

Gas struts should be installed with the piston rod pointing down. This orientation ensures that the main seal is properly lubricated with the oil inside the strut. The oil also provides damping, which slows the piston’s speed near the end of its stroke to protect the hinges of the object being lifted. Mounting the strut rod up can reduce the life of the strut and put extra strain on the hinges. I did it backwards in this video but have since corrected my mistake.
